Published in 1988 in Hands On Electronics, this circuit converts the 12 V of a battery into 120 V AC available in two outputs. Power is a few tens of watts, but the waveform is not perfectly sinusoidal. Transistors must be mounted on excellent heatsinks and high current wires must be compatible thickness. Eventually capacitors from 1nF to 100nF should be connected in parallel with the transformers in the low voltage part to achieve the frequency close to 60Hz.
