A binary counter until 2" or a divide-by-the same value can be built by cascading n 4013 flop-flops as shown in Figure bellow. Because each 4013 has two fIip-flops, you wiII need n/2 flip~flops for a division by n even and n/2+1 for a division by n odd. The maximum input frequency depends on the power-supply voltage and is 12.5 MHz for 10 V.
