This circuit protects power supply equipment against transients coming from the power line as well as the telephone line. The circuit deflects them to earth. The coils consist of 150 turns of 18 coreless wires and the varistor are for 220 V.The spark arrester is of the three-pole gas type and in normal applications the lamp should be replaced with an appropriate fuse.
