In the figure we have the use of one of the four existing amplifiers in the LM2900 and LM3900 as a voltage regulator. The zener diode determines the output voltage and R2 must be set according to the zener temperature coefficient. Transistor Q1 should be chosen as a function of the current output current. The output voltage is given by the expression:
