Would you like to keep a low power LED on from the 110V or 220V local area network? If you need this circuit the assembly we describe is the solution.

The circuit presented does not use a transformer and the consumption is of the order of 1 W in the 110 V network and 2 W in the 220 V network. We can use this circuit to embed a switch, making it easier to locate in the dark. In figure 1 we have the circuit, its mounting on a terminal bridge and also how to embed in a wall switch.

The resistor must be 2 W for the 110 V line and 4 W for the 220 V line, and the LED can be any color and its polarity must be observed in the installation.

D1 - 1N4004 or equivalent - Silicon Diode

LED - Common LED of any color

R1 - 10k ohm x 2 W for 110V or 22k x 4W for 220V
