LD57100 ST Microelectronics LDO Regulator with Ultra Low Voltage Drop
Available from Mouser Electronics, these regulators have a voltage drop of only 40 mV with 1 A of current. They are available with input voltages from the output voltage up to 5.5 V. There is an adjustable version from 0.5 to 3 V.
