This circuit of a 1991 PE Hobbyst Handbook allows the brightness of the incandescent lamp to be varied from 50% to the maximum. The SCR must match the current in the lamp as well as D1 and D2. + R1 is 10k, C1 is 1 uF, R2 is 10k, R3 is 22k and R4 is 10k.
