With this circuit it is possible to adjust the active cycle of the generated signal in a wide range of values. The resistor has values between 10k and 47k and the main frequency of the circuit depends on the capacitor. The inverters can also be 4011 or 4011 gates with the inputs joined. The diodes can be 1N4148 or equivalent. The circuit is from Newton C. Braga's CMOS Sourcebook, published in the United States.
