I found this circuit in a Popular Electronics from 1992. The circuit shows how we can receive amplitude-modulated optical signals, such as those of the CB10501E. The phototransistor can be of any type and optical resources such as lenses or parabolic mirrors can be used to increase sensitivity and directivity.
