This circuit converts the voltage from 0 to 5 V set in R10 into a digital output that corresponds to the lighting of the LEDs. The circuit is from Popular Electronics from March 1991. The circuit can be used to interface a TTL circuit in place of the LEDs. Instead of R10, a sensor or an analog signal source can be used.
