This half-wave control is used for resistive loads of up to 200W with the TIC106. The diode can be 1N4004 or 1N4007 depending on the 110V or 220V power grid. The triggering element is a neon lamp that can be replaced by a diac. The circuit works as a dimmer up to 50% of the maximum load (half wave) and should not be used with fluorescent or electronic lamps.
