With the circuit shown in the figure, the frequency of a 5 MHz oscillator controlled by crystal can be varied by approximately 10 kHz. The transistor can be a BC547 or 2N2222. The LC circuit must be resonant at the frequency of the crystal. The frequency can be modified by changing the crystal. The limit depends on the characteristics of the transistor.
