This circuit causes a green LED to light up when we step on the brakes and the rear lamps to light up normally. However, if the lamps are burned out, a red LED will be lit. The circuit is connected in series with the normal brake circuit. The 0.22 ohms resistor inserted in the circuit does not affect the luminosity noticeably of the brake lights. The transistors used do not require heat radiators and LEDs are common. The resistors in series with the LEDs determine their brightness.
