This oscillator does not carry any resonant circuit, except for the one formed by the crystal itself. The two RF shocks (XRF) must have high impedance in the operating frequency of the circuit. The current required by this circuit will be around 20 mA for a 12 V supply, but it should operate satisfactorily in the voltage range of 9 to 18 V, depending, of course, on the transistor used. Less powerful transistors, such as the BF494, BF495 or others, may not accept voltages above 12 V. However, types of more power, such as 2N2222 or 2N2218, can reach an operation with higher voltages. The 15k resistor at the base of the transistor can also have its value modified, depending on the transistor, to obtain greater efficiency.
