One touch of the X1 sensor and the capacitor C1 charges, causing the power transistor to drive by lighting the lamp. A good capacitor (with few leaks) should retain the charge for a long time while keeping the lamp on. To turn it off, simply discharge the capacitor by touching X2. The circuit can be used as a touch dimmer or in other applications. The power FET must be chosen according to the load current to be controlled.
