This circuit allows the supply of 6 V devices powered by batteries from the car battery (voltage removed from the cigarette lighter by means of an adapter). The 7806 integrated circuit must be equipped with a heat radiator and the fuse at the entrance is important to protect the electrical installation of the car in the event of a short circuit. Capacitors must have working voltages of at least 16 V for the 470 uF, and 12 V for the 100 uF. For high consumption devices such as 4-cell CD players, the 100 uF capacitor should be increased to 1000 uF.
