The circuit in the figure is suggested by Texas Instruments to trigger a sensitive SCR from a phototransistor. The 2k2 resistor can be changed depending on the sensitivity of the phototransistor used and the SCR itself. For inductive loads connect a diode in parallel. The charging voltage depends exclusively on the SCR used.
