The circuit was found in a 1980 documentation. It is the connection of a simple diode in conjunction with two switches, which allows the light in your living room or bedroom to shine with two intensities. On one switch you control the brightness by obtaining strong light and dim light, and on the other you turn the light on or off. Using a BY127 or 1N4004 diode you can control lamps up to 100 W. The "low" light obtained with this feature is ideal for you to watch TV without being dazzled. Note: the circuit only works with incandescent lamps.
