Any general-purpose germanium or silicon PNP transistor can be used on this receiver. The handset must be of high impedance with at least 2 k and the supply can be made with voltages from 1 to 9 V. The coil has 20 + 70 turns of wire 28 or 30 in a ferrite rod.
