This circuit consists of an electroscope, that is, a rudimentary detector of electrical charges, the kind that can be obtained when rubbing a comb or plastic ruler against clothes or hair. The device will detect charges by varying the tone emitted by a low-frequency oscillator. If the reader wishes, they can supply the circuit with 3 V and, in place of the oscillator, place an LED. The oscillator, like the LED, works as a load for the third BC548 transistor placed in cascade.
