Using the Linear Technologies LT3080 IC we have a constant current source with a 10 V voltage input in the figure. The output current setting depends on the 1 ohm resistor and is set to a 100 k ohm potentiometer. Of course, suitable heat sinks must be provided for the various types of enclosures. Of course, they will be smaller than the non-LDO equivalents, because the voltage drop and therefore the dissipation will be smaller.
