When S1 is in 1, the circuit operates with of half the total power applied to the load. When in position 2, the load operates at full power. The triac is chosen according the load power and the power supply voltage. The triac must be mounted on a heatsink. Suggested triac is the TIC226 to loads up to 400 W.
