120 degree lagged signals can be obtained with the simple configuration shown in the figure. Integrated circuit 4018 is wired as a divider by 6 which means that the frequency of the signal applied at the input must be 6 times the frequency of the signals desired at the output. The rectangular pulses obtained at the output will be out of 120 degrees. The maximum frequency depends on the power being around a few megahertz with 5 V.
