Taking advantage of the comparator setting, we can use the Norton amplifier as an over temperature control, ie switching an external load when the temperature exceeds the limit set by the potentiometer setting. The thermistor used as a sensor (NTC) must have the resistance same order as the desired setting for the potentiometer, so that at the trigger threshold we have at the reference input (input +) a voltage of approximately half of the supply voltage. Note that using high input resistors causes the device to operate in terms of input voltage difference rather than current.
