This first order Butterworth filter is tuned to frequencies around 1 kHz. The frequency is given by C1, C2 and R2. In the section Mathematics for Electronics you can find formulas to calculations involving other frequencies. Power supply can range from 6 + 6 V to 12 + 12 V.
