This circuit uses a JFET CA3140 operational amplifier to convert a low frequency sinusoidal signal into a rectangular signal. The configuration is suggested by an English publication from 1982 but can also be implemented with other operational amplifiers. The supply voltage depends on the desired amplitude for the output signal, typically between 5 and 15 V.
