This circuit generates voltage signals in the range of 5,000 to 30,000 V with an automobile ignition coil. The Q1 transistor can be a BD135 and the power is supplied with a 12 to 15 V source and a current of at least 3 A. We found this circuit in a 1992 Poptronics.
