This crystal-controlled oscillator generates a 1 MHz rectangular signal and can be used as a time base for digital instruments, clocks, or stopwatches. The capacitors are ceramic, and the CMOS integrated circuit must be supplied with voltages between 9 and 15 V. Other CMOS functions that operate as inverters can be used instead of 4049.
