This high Q “rejector” or notch filter rejects signals whose frequencies are in the range determined by the component values, according to the formula next to the diagram. The high Q means that the rejection range around the calculated value is narrow. For the indicated values, the rejection frequency is 1 kHz. The operational amplifier must be chosen according to the frequency of the signals that must pass, as well as the range of supply voltages. The circuit must be supplied with a symmetrical source and the input impedance is of the same order as the input R resistors.
