This circuit is suggested by the National Semiconductor (Now Texas Instruments) and is based on a high speed LH033 operational amplifier, capable of operating up to 100 MHz. The operator in question can supply 10 mA currents at 1 k loads. The sensor is a large surface diode that must be exposed to the detected radiation. We remember that the alpha particles have little penetration capacity, so there should be no obstacles to reach the sensor. Also note the need for shielding on the signal input line.
