Texas Instruments TDES4940 Bridge Deserializers are V3Link™ enhanced video to DisplayPort (DP)/Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) bridge devices. With a chipset, the TDES4940 receives a high-speed serialized interface over low-cost 50Ω coax or STP/STQ cables. The TI TDES4940 Bridge Deserializers are VESA DP v1.4a/eDP v1.4b compatible devices that support advanced features such as HBR3 and SuperFrame formats. The deserializers facilitate video resolutions of 4K 30-bit color and higher. The V3Link Enhanced Video aids video and audio data transmission and complete duplex control, including I2C and GPIO data over the same link. Consolidating video data and control over V3Link Enhanced Video lanes lowers the interconnect size and weight and simplifies system design. EMI is minimized by employing low-voltage differential signaling, data scrambling, and randomization. Using the compatible V3Link mode, the TDES4940 delivers up to 2K resolutions with 24-bit color depth over a single/dual link and HDCP v1.4 support when paired with an HDCP-capable serializer.
