This interesting idea of a radio detector for a medium-wave radio is from a 1966 documentation. The critical thing about this detector is mercury whose use requires extreme care due to its toxicity. The earphones must be crystal or high impedance and the L1 coil has 70 turns of wire AEG 28 to 32 in a ferrite rod. The antenna must be very long. L2 has 30 turns over L1.
